Socrates opposed the art of writing. He would teach by speaking to a small audience and posing philosophical questions provoking thought in his students. In fact, his teachings weren't recorded in writing until much later and were recorded by his student Plato. However, if he knew what forms of writing would eventually evolve through technology, would he still have opposed it completely?
